pascom Mobile Integration
Learn how to configure and integrate pascom Mobile softphones for seamless mobile communication with your pascom phone system.
The pascom Mobile Integration allows you to use the pascom Mobile App as a softphone, extending your business communication capabilities to your smartphone. This guide covers the configuration of Mobile Softphones within the pascom Admin Dashboard as well as the various mobile pairing methods.
Creating a Mobile Softphone
To create a new mobile softphone, follow these steps in the pascom Admin Dashboard:
The basic settings for the new Mobile Softphone will then be displayed.
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
Display Name | Enter a descriptive name for the Mobile Softphone. This name will be displayed in the device list and other areas of the pascom system. Example: “Max Mustermann’s Device” |
Mobile Number | Enter the mobile number assigned to this device. This is mainly used for GSM fallback and is important to ensure that calls can still be received even when no data connection is available. |
GSM Only | This option configures the softphone to use only GSM for calls, bypassing VoIP. If this option is set to “YES,” the pascom client will call the mobile number via the telephone network rather than a VoIP call. |
SIP Options | Advanced configuration options for the SIP connection. These settings are generally not required unless you have specific requirements or need to troubleshoot connection issues. |
Assignment | Here, you assign the device to a specific user. Without this assignment, the Mobile Softphone cannot be used. |
Mobile Pairing Methods
There are three methods for pairing the pascom Mobile App with the pascom phone system:
- QR Code Pairing (Admin Initiated)
- Email Pairing (Admin Initiated)
- Self-Service Pairing (User Initiated)
QR Code Pairing
This method is ideal for preparing company-owned devices for employees. As an administrator, you can generate a QR code that can be scanned to pair the mobile device.
The pascom Mobile App will then configure itself automatically.
Email Pairing
This method is useful when employees are using their private mobile devices and the administrator needs to facilitate the pairing process.
This method eliminates the need for users to manually enter server addresses or other configuration details.
Self-Service Pairing
This method allows users to pair the pascom Mobile App themselves. Detailed instructions can be found here.
