What is ACD?

ACD is an abbreviation meaning Automatic Call Distribution. Within telephony systems, ACD systems often form part a CTI (Computer telephony integration) system and are implemented in environments which have high call volumes where callers do not require a specific contact, but rather the next available person. So in essence ACD systems are call queueing systems
