What is the PSTN?

PSTN or Public Switched Telephone Network describes the collection of the world’s circuit switched telephone networks which are operated by national, regional and even local telecom providers (Carriers or Operators) and provide the infrastructure & services for public telecommunications. The PSTN can be divided in to two forms subscriber categories, POTS and ISDN.
